A pedestrian died Saturday night in a hit-and-run at McDuffie Street and Catlett Street in Anderson County. Investigators answered the crash at about 9:45 p.m. The man was already dead when help arrived, and the vehicle that hit him did not stop. That vehicle has not been identified.

The coroner named the man as 62-year-old Robert Anthony Tucker of Anderson. He was crossing McDuffie Street when the vehicle struck him, and he died at the scene. The cause of death was multiple traumatic injuries. The manner was ruled accidental.

An autopsy has been scheduled as the investigation continues. The coroner's office, state troopers, and the Anderson County Sheriff's Office are all still on the case.
