PIEDMONT, S.C. — A 20-year-old man who went missing in the Piedmont area of Greenville County on Tuesday night has been located and is safe, the Greenville County Sheriff’s Office said Wednesday.

Deputies had asked the public for help after the man walked away from the area of Luker Road around 7:30 p.m. Oct. 13. Investigators considered him endangered because he has medical conditions, including bipolar disorder and schizophrenia, and he left on foot.

In their alert, deputies described him as standing about 5 feet 6 inches tall and weighing roughly 135 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes. They said he had been wearing gray pants and a gray shirt with a red plaid pocket and was carrying a blanket in green, blue and white.

The sheriff’s office later announced the search had ended with the man found unharmed. Deputies did not say where he was located or how long he had been gone when he was found.
