GREENVILLE, S.C. — Pro hockey returns to downtown Greenville on Friday, Oct. 16, when the Swamp Rabbits start their 25th season against the Atlanta Gladiators at Bon Secours Wellness Arena.

The puck drops at 7:05 p.m., and the arena doors open 60 minutes earlier. Bon Secours St. Francis Health System is the presenting sponsor for opening night, and the club, the ECHL farm team for the Los Angeles Kings of the NHL and the Ontario Reign of the AHL, mixes new additions with returning players as it opens its chase for the Kelly Cup.

Festivities begin at 5 p.m. with a pregame party on Furman Plaza. Players arrive at 5:15 p.m. for an orange carpet walk-in, each paired with a youth player from the Greater Greenville Hockey Association.

The team and Greenville Water are also asking fans to bring tap water from home to the plaza party. Water dropped into barrels there will be filtered by arena staff and poured into the ice as it is resurfaced all season long in 2026-27.
