City Hall Renovation Moves Greenville Offices to NOMA Tower

GREENVILLE, S.C. — Greenville City Hall is emptying for a multi-year renovation, with the mayor’s office and other departments leaving 206 South Main Street for temporary desks in the NOMA tower while crews rebuild the civic hub.

City officials say eight departments are relocating during the work. People with appointments should start at Greenville Cares in the NOMA lobby. Day-to-day municipal counters continue a few miles away on Halton Road.

Plans call for a lighter, glass-heavy look that pulls the entrance closer to Main Street and brings council chambers down from the 10th floor to ground level so meetings are easier to find. Local radio coverage notes the 1973 shell stays up while the interior is rebuilt for more accessible service.

Council’s last session in the current South Main chambers is Oct. 26. Starting Nov. 9, the body meets at the Convention Center downtown. Planning, historic review, design review and zoning appeals boards will use Greenlink space on Arcadia Drive.

Reeves and Young take control of the building in November. City materials point to an early 2029 reopening for the renovated hall.
