HERE BREAKING

GREENVILLE, S.C. — Hundreds of demonstrators packed Falls Park in Greenville on Saturday for a No Kings rally that swapped protest chants for a single request: vote early.

The downtown gathering capped a day of 10 No Kings events spread across the Upstate, a lineup that began that morning in Laurens. Organizers staggered the stops from city to city so more people would see the call to head to the polls before Election Day.

Signs in the crowd carried messages such as Vote early and No kings, just voters. Local activists and candidates for office spoke between music sets, among them Courtney McClain, a Spartanburg native running for the 4th Congressional District seat. Community Heroes, C.A.R.E. 864, 50501 SC and Indivisible Upstate SC were among the groups that put the Upstate events together.

Early voting for the 2026 statewide general election opens Monday, Oct. 19, and runs through Saturday, Oct. 31, with centers open from 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Saturday. Voters must show a photo ID and may use any early voting center in their county.

Greenville County sites include McAlister Square at 225 S. Pleasantburg Drive, the Mt. Pleasant Community Center on S. Fairfield Road, City of Greenville Public Works on Fairforest Way, the Greenville Tech Northwest Campus on Whitehorse Road and centers in Greer and Simpsonville.
