TRAVELERS REST, S.C. — A 50-year-old woman is jailed on a felony DUI charge after the truck she was driving left Goodwin Bridge Road in Travelers Rest on Friday evening and struck and killed a 71-year-old man.

Christopher Roy Stine was the man killed, according to the Greenville County Coroner’s Office, which said he died where he was struck shortly after 5:30 p.m.

The South Carolina Highway Patrol said Vickie Harrison was at the wheel of a 2015 Dodge truck and was trying to get around another vehicle headed the same way when the pass went wrong. Troopers said the truck veered off the left edge of the road, hitting Stine and a mailbox.

Harrison faces a charge of felony DUI involving death and was taken to the Greenville County Detention Center. At a hearing Saturday afternoon, a Greenville County magistrate judge denied her bond.

The case will be handled by the 13th Judicial Circuit Solicitor’s Office, which prosecutes crimes in Greenville and Pickens counties. The highway patrol and the coroner’s office are still investigating.
