GREENVILLE, S.C. — Campbell will start Monday with plenty of breathing room at the Furman Intercollegiate. The Camels shot 281 and 284 over the first two rounds at the Furman University Golf Club in Greenville, putting them at 3-under 565 on the par-71 course.

Nobody else in the 15-team field is under par. Lipscomb is the closest chaser at 8-over 576, a full 11 strokes back. Campbell also posted the low team round of Sunday afternoon with its even-par 284.

The individual race is far tighter. Western Kentucky sophomore Will Easterlin opened with a 67 and added a 70, and his 5-under total has him sharing the top spot with Joachim Larsen Tegner. Easterlin has made nine birdies, more than any other player in the field.

Richmond made the biggest move of the day. The Spiders shaved 17 shots off their opening 303 with a 2-over 286, climbing six places into sixth at 21-over 589, three behind fifth-place Davidson. Senior Jack LaPiana carded a 2-under 69 and sits tied for 10th at 144.

Western Kentucky is seventh as a team. The last 18 holes are scheduled for Monday, Oct. 19, with the first groups going off at 8:20 a.m.
