# Cavender’s Boot City Opens First Upstate Store in Greenville

GREENVILLE, S.C. — Cavender’s Boot City opened its doors Friday morning on Woodruff Road in Greenville, S.C., the Texas western wear chain’s first Upstate shop and only its second statewide.

The 9,772-square-foot shop sits in Magnolia Park at 1025 Woodruff Road, unit F105, beside Bass Pro Shops. Friday’s start was a soft opening, and the company plans a formal grand opening after the holidays.

Shoppers will find boots, hats, jeans, shirts and workwear for men, women and children. The store also handles boot fitting and stretching, hat shaping and commercial accounts for work crews.

James and Patricia Cavender started the business in 1965 in Pittsburg, Texas. The other South Carolina location is in North Myrtle Beach.

Getting the space ready took a full interior and exterior buildout. A $500,000 commercial alteration permit was issued Aug. 3, and Horizon Retail Construction did the work.
