Alexander’s Impact on Clemson’s Linebacker Group
Clemson defensive coordinator Tom Allen has commended linebacker Jeremiah Alexander for his work ethic and recent emergence. This praise comes as Clemson’s linebacker group was considered a significant question mark heading into the 2026 season.
Alexander transferred to Clemson from Alabama before the 2025 season, where he transitioned from an edge rusher to a linebacker. Despite this position change, he quickly earned a starting role by the end of fall camp. Head coach Dabo Swinney noted in August that the linebackers needed to demonstrate their capabilities, particularly without Sammy Brown on the field.
Alexander played in 13 games, starting three, and recorded 36 tackles, 1.5 tackles for loss, three pass deflections, one fumble recovery, and one sack. Swinney recently stated that Alexander might be the most improved and one of the most physical players on the team. Over the past three contests, Alexander has accumulated 20 tackles, 1.5 tackles for loss, and four quarterback hurries. He also logged double-digit snaps as an edge rusher against North Carolina in Week 3.
