No. 24 Kentucky edges South Carolina 35-34 in overtime

COLUMBIA, South Carolina — No. 24 Kentucky rallied from a 17-0 deficit and beat South Carolina 35-34 in overtime Saturday at Williams-Brice Stadium.

Kenny Minchey threw a 6-yard touchdown pass to Henry Boyer on Kentucky’s overtime possession, then found Willie Rodriguez for the 2-point conversion that ended the game. Coach Will Stein signaled for two points immediately after the touchdown.

South Carolina had gone ahead 34-27 on its overtime chance before Kentucky answered. The Wildcats improved to 4-1 and 2-1 in the Southeastern Conference. The Gamecocks fell to 2-3 and 0-3 in league play.

South Carolina quarterback LaNorris Sellers threw for 226 yards and ran for 147 in the loss.
