GREENVILLE, S.C. — Fall for Greenville is underway downtown through Oct. 11, with phased road closures along Main Street and nearby blocks as crews turn the corridor into a large food and music festival in Greenville, S.C.
From Oct. 9 through Oct. 11, organizers plan food from about 60 restaurants with more than 300 menu items, more than 50 beer taps and wine vendors, and seven stages with more than 90 bands after a kickoff concert on Oct. 8.
Closures are in effect along Main Street from East North to River streets, with shorter stretches of East McBee Avenue, East Washington Street and East Coffee Street also affected. Additional closures along Broad Street, Brown Street and South Laurens Street were set to begin at 4 a.m. and remain through the festival.
City garage parking is $10 for the event, except at N. Laurens, Church and Riverplace. Visitors can also park at Greenville High Academy next to Fluor Field and ride a free downtown trolley operated by Greenlink.
Bike valet along the Swamp Rabbit Trail near Main Street is free through Bike Walk Greenville, and a bike taxi option from Greenville High costs $8 per person. Festival maps, vendor lists and music schedules are posted on the event website.
Drivers should expect heavy downtown congestion through Sunday as South Main near Falls Park, North Main toward East McBee and connecting cross streets stay inside the festival footprint.
