CLINTON, S.C. — Presbyterian College football claimed the 1919 Cup for the first time since the rivalry trophy was created in 2021, beating Davidson 38-21 on a rain-soaked Saturday at Bailey Memorial Stadium in Clinton.

The Blue Hose erased an early 14-0 deficit with five straight touchdown drives and piled up nearly 350 rushing yards as a team against the Wildcats.

The backfield duo of Jackson Burleson and Damion Moate combined for 39 carries, 243 rushing yards and four touchdowns, with both setting career highs in rushing yards.

Presbyterian also set a program record with an 11-game home winning streak at Bailey Memorial Stadium, surpassing 700 days since its last loss in Clinton.

Quarterback Landon Sharpe added 90 rushing yards and threw for 149 yards and a touchdown as the Blue Hose averaged nearly six yards per carry on 59 attempts.

Presbyterian moved to 3-3 overall and 2-1 in the Pioneer Football League. Davidson fell to 2-5 and 0-3 in league play. The Blue Hose next face Stetson on the road.
