Greenville’s Lakeside Concert Series Celebrates 50th Year at Furman University
Furman University’s Sounds of Summer
Greenville’s music scene is set to come alive as Furman University’s lakeside concert series, Sounds of Summer, marks its 50th year with a lineup of exciting performances. The series will kick off on May 30 at Furman’s amphitheater, offering a diverse range of musical acts for the community to enjoy.
Performance Lineup
The schedule for the concert series includes a variety of performers throughout the summer:
- Lakeside Concert Band – May 30
- Carolina Youth Symphony – June 6
- Poinsett Winds – June 13
- The Greenville Jazz Collective – June 20
- Lakeside Concert Band with Greenville Chorale and professional fireworks display – June 27
- Lakeside Concert Band with PaintJam speed painters and JDew auctioneer – July 4
- Spartanburg Jazz Ensemble – July 11
- Matt Olson Jazz Quartet – July 18
- Lakeside Concert Band and the Foothills Brass Band – July 25
- Lakeside Concert Band – Aug. 1
All concerts will start at 7:30 p.m. and are free for the public to attend. In case of inclement weather, the performances will be moved indoors to Furman’s McAlister Auditorium. For additional details, interested individuals can contact Furman’s music department office at 864-294-2086.
