GREENVILLE, S.C. — Southern First Bancshares, the parent of Greenville-based Southern First Bank, said Tuesday it earned $12.2 million in the July-through-September quarter, or $1.28 for each share.
Revenue after interest costs came to $37.5 million, in line with what Wall Street analysts expected. Gross revenue for the quarter was $63.4 million.
In an investor presentation filed with its results, the company said diluted earnings per share rose 21% from a year earlier. Its net interest margin, the gap between what it earns on loans and pays on deposits, reached 3.02%, up 40 basis points over the same stretch.
Total loans grew 10% from a year ago to $4.2 billion, and deposits climbed 12% to $4.1 billion. Retail deposits, which exclude wholesale funding, were up 20% at $3.7 billion.
Founded in 2000 and still headquartered in Greenville, the bank runs 12 offices across eight metro markets in the Southeast.
