GREENVILLE, S.C. — Greenville is still home to a Michelin-starred kitchen. Scoundrel, the French-leaning restaurant run by chef Joe Cash, held onto its single star when the 2026 Michelin Guide American South honors were handed out Wednesday night in Nashville.
Four more downtown-area dining rooms kept their place in the guide. Jianna, The Anchorage, Soby’s and Topsoil Restaurant all stayed on the recommended list, a level the guide uses for cooking and service it judges a cut above average.
This was only the second year for the regional awards. The first ceremony took place in Greenville last November, and the region spans the Carolinas, Tennessee, Alabama, Louisiana, Mississippi and Atlanta.
Georgia had a bigger night. Metro Atlanta picked up two new stars, one for So. Fox in Virginia-Highland and one for Uberto, chef Ryan Smith’s restaurant at Quercus in the small town of Gay, which lifted the state to 10 starred restaurants.
Greenville restaurants honored a year ago reported a noticeable jump in diners after the first awards, and Cash has described the past year as unusually busy for Scoundrel.
