Anderson, South Carolina – Swimmer Emily Heintz has officially committed to swim and study at Queens University of Charlotte starting in the fall of 2026. Heintz has demonstrated her dedication to the sport through extensive training with Team Greenville and attending T.L. Hanna High School.

Heintz specializes in middle-distance events, showing significant strengths in the 100-500 freestyles, backstroke, and Individual Medley (IM) races. Her talent was evident at the 2024 South Carolina High School League State Championships, where she earned two fourth-place finishes in her events. At the championships, she also achieved personal bests, clocking in at 58.05 seconds for the 100 back and 52.77 seconds in the 100 free.

In addition, Heintz contributed to the 200 free relay team, which finished sixth with a leg time of 24.22 seconds, and led off the 200 medley relay that placed seventh with a time of 27.79 seconds. Her performance at the NCSA Spring Championships was also notable as she set best times in the IM races, finishing 24th in the 400 IM and 47th in the 200 IM.

Heintz has recorded impressive times in other competitions as well, including 5:05.06 in the 500 free and 2:07.40 in the 200 back at the South Carolina Senior SC Championship held in February. Her personal best in the 200 free is a remarkable 1:51.92, achieved in March 2024.

Queens University, located in North Carolina, plays at the Division I level and is led by head coach Jeff Dugdale, who has been with the program for 16 years. During the 2025 ASUN Championships, the Queens women’s team secured a commendable third place out of seven competing teams.
