Terri Ward Strange, aged 74, passed away peacefully on July 28, 2025. Born on May 13, 1951, she was widely known for her deep love of family, giving nature, and her radiant smile that lit up any room. Terri was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas R. Strange Jr. She is survived by her son, Thomas R. Strange III, and his wife, Charli Strange, as well as her daughter, Terra E. Strange. Terri leaves behind four grandchildren: Thomas R. Strange IV, Kassius K. Jackson, Harper E. Strange, and Charlotte R. Strange. Also surviving her are her two sisters, Tracey Francis and Toni Mahaffey.
The funeral services for Terri are set to take place on Monday, August 4, 2025, at Mackey Funerals and Cremations at Woodlawn. Visitation will begin at 12 PM and last until 2 PM, followed by the funeral service at 2 PM and a graveside service at 3 PM. In lieu of flowers, her family has requested donations to be made to Home with a Heart, a charity that reflects Terri’s giving spirit.
Joshua Murray Rush, aged 30, also passed away recently, on July 19, 2025, after a courageous seven-month battle with NUT Carcinoma cancer. Born in Greenville, SC, on May 21, 1995, he was the son of Jeff and Becky Rush. Joshua was homeschooled and graduated in 2013, later earning a bachelor’s degree in engineering from Bob Jones University in 2017. He had a fruitful career as a quality engineer at Itron Inc. in West Union, SC, where he worked for seven years.
In 2018, Joshua married Anna Elizabeth Barker, with whom he had two children, Caleb (5) and Libby (2). He was an active member of Mount Calvary Baptist Church, where he and Anna served in youth ministries. He was ordained as a deacon in 2024, showcasing his commitment to his faith and community. Joshua was also known for his love of running, marathon training, and cherished hunting trips with family and friends.
Joshua is survived by his wife, Anna, their two children, his parents Jeff and Becky Rush, sister Ashley Rush, and brothers Jason Rush (Emily), Jared Rush (Meg), and Jesse Rush (Rebecca). He is also remembered by his maternal grandmother Marianne Becker, paternal grandparents Duane and Sally Rush, nieces and nephews including Amy, Chelsea, Graham, and Eric, along with the Barker family members Matt and Lori, Rebecca, and Timothy (Ashton).
A memorial service for Joshua is scheduled for noon on July 26, 2025, at Mount Calvary Baptist Church. The family will receive friends from 9:30 to 11:30 AM at the church prior to the service. Following the memorial, interment will take place at Coleman Memorial Cemetery in Travelers Rest, SC. For those unable to attend in person, the service will be live-streamed online, ensuring that all who wish to honor Joshua can do so.
The community is encouraged to come together in tribute to both Terri and Joshua, celebrating their lives and the impact they had on everyone around them.
