Personal and Educational Background

Born in Greenville, SC, Turner was the youngest child of Franklin G. Turner and Jean C. Turner, both of whom predeceased him. His family background played a crucial role in shaping the man he became, with an unwavering devotion to his relatives throughout his life. Jeff graduated from Wade Hampton High School in 1983, where he excelled not only in academics but also in football and art. Following high school, he attended Mars Hill College, concluding his studies in 1987.

Career and Artistic Pursuits

Turner’s career spanned 38 years at Southeastern Products in Greenville, where he was respected for his integrity and work ethic. Over the years, he formed enduring relationships with his colleagues, who admired his commitment and dedication. In addition to his professional life, Turner was an accomplished artist. He enjoyed spending his time painting and sketching, with his artistic endeavors reflecting his gentle and creative spirit.

Family Life and Interests

Married to Kelly Andrews Turner for 34 years, Jeff often referred to her as his wife and best friend. Together, they enjoyed a vibrant life filled with adventure, laughter, and the love of their pets, including several dogs named Peyton, Max, Bear, Chloe, Luna, and Fenway. Jeff’s profound bond with his nieces and nephew was another significant aspect of his life, as he loved them as if they were his own children. Outside of family, Turner had an adventurous spirit, participating in local volleyball leagues and dart tournaments, as well as enjoying hiking, reading, and watching movies.

Survived By

Jeff is survived by his beloved wife Kelly; his sister Lindsey Deon and her husband Ken; nephew Will Oncken and his wife Lena; niece Caroline Murray and her husband Chris; and their children, great-nephew Colin Murray and great-niece Libby Oncken. He is also survived by his faithful dogs, Luna and Fenway.

Memorial Service Details

A visitation will commence at 12:30 p.m. on June 10, 2025, at Mackey Funerals and Cremations located at Woodlawn Memorial Park in Greenville, SC, followed by a chapel service scheduled for 2:00 p.m. and a graveside service at Springwood Cemetery. For those unable to attend, a livestream of the service will be available online.

Contributions in Memory

In lieu of flowers, the family encourages donations in Jeff’s memory to Speak for Animals or the Tunnel to Towers Foundation, reflecting Jeff’s compassionate spirit. As a tribute to his life, a passage from Philippians 4:7 (KJV) encapsulates the peace Jeff brought to those around him: “And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.”
