Greer, S.C. – Palma Jean Conner, a beloved community member known for her kindness and dedication, passed away peacefully on June 25, 2025, at the age of 77. Her contributions to both her family and community will be fondly remembered by those who knew her.

Born in Akron, Ohio, Palma was the daughter of the late John Dexter Henry and Edna Lawing Henry Marlowe. She is preceded in death by her husband, Charles Franklin Conner, her sister Marlene Henry Gifford, and brothers-in-law Don Medley and Harold Gifford. Palma is survived by her daughter, Kim Conner Gaillard and her husband Clay, her grandchildren Eli and Katherine Gaillard, her sister Sandra Henry Medley, and numerous nieces and nephews. Additionally, she is survived by her longtime companion Donnie Greer and his children, Christopher and Megan Greer, as well as his grandchildren, Aria and Xander.

Palma graduated from Converse College in 1970 and went on to make significant contributions to her community as a dedicated hotel manager at the Holiday Motel in Greer, S.C. After retiring from her role in the hospitality industry, she remained engaged with the local community by taking on the role of a substitute teacher.

Passions and Community Involvement

Palma had a deep commitment to the Baptist faith and was well-known for her lifelong love and care for animals. Throughout her life, she generously looked after many rescued animals, a testament to her compassionate spirit. Palma also enjoyed playing cards and treasured the moments spent with her family and friends, further emphasizing her strong connections within her community.

Visitation and Funeral Arrangements

Family and friends are invited to pay their respects during a visitation scheduled for July 2, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Floyd Greenlawn Chapel in Spartanburg, S.C. A celebration of Palma’s life will follow at 12:00 PM, with burial set to take place at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens thereafter. Arrangements for her services have been entrusted to Floyd Greenlawn Chapel.

Palma Jean Conner leaves behind a legacy of love, service, and connection with those who had the privilege of knowing her. Her commitment to family, friends, and the community will continue to inspire others, illustrating how a life dedicated to caring for others can leave a lasting impact.
