Haskell-Robinson is survived by her two sons, Edwin Calhoun Haskell, III, and Harrison Corbin Haskell, as well as a step-daughter, Elaine Robinson Copenhaver. She also leaves behind five grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.
A Life of Service and Leadership
Born in New Haven, Connecticut, Patricia was the daughter of the late Sarah Cruikshank Corbin and Harrison Corbin. After graduating from Prospect Hill School for girls, she attended Hollins College in Roanoke, Virginia. She spent 25 years helping to establish the Robinson Company, where she was recognized as the first International Property Specialist in South Carolina. Her leadership extended to serving as president of the Greenville Association of Realtors and holding key board positions with the South Carolina Association of Realtors and the Greenville County Economic Development Corporation.
Patricia made history as the first woman to serve as Chairman of the Greenville Chamber of Commerce, a position that exemplified her dedication to economic development and community growth. Her commitment to enriching the Greenville community was further evidenced by her roles on the board of the Christ Church Episcopal School and as a member of the Board of Visitors.
Influence Beyond Real Estate
In addition to her real estate accomplishments, Haskell-Robinson’s professional journey began in television, where she worked at WFBC (now WYFF). She hosted several programs, including “Telescope,” which featured local news and interviews, and “Sunday at Home.” Her service to the city included two terms on the Greenville City Council, where she held the roles of Mayor Pro Tempore and Acting Mayor.
Haskell-Robinson also contributed to the local financial sector by serving on the board of United Carolina Bank, which subsequently merged with BB&T. Her leadership in healthcare was notable as she was a trustee of the Greenville Hospital System and served on the board of the Greenville Hospital Foundation.
Educational Initiatives and Community Engagement
Patricia was instrumental in implementing the first International Baccalaureate Program in Greenville County Schools, highlighting her commitment to educational excellence. She held presidential positions in numerous organizations, including the Junior League of Greenville, the Metropolitan Arts Council, and Greenville Sister Cities, among others.
Active in heritage organizations, Haskell-Robinson was a member of the General Society of Mayflower Descendants, the National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution, and the National Society of the Colonial Dames of America. Her religious faith was also significant, reflected in her active participation at Christ Church Episcopal, where she served as past chairman of the Altar Guild and on the sewing committee.
Memorial Service and Donations
A memorial service honoring Patricia Haskell-Robinson will take place at Christ Church Episcopal on June 18, 2025, at 3:00 PM, followed by a reception at the Poinsett Club.
