Gaffney Says Goodbye to Young Soul Kaycee Deanna Fowler
Gaffney is mourning the loss of a vibrant spirit, Kaycee Deanna Fowler, who sadly passed away at the young age of 33 on September 20, 2024, in her home on Victory Trail Road. A daughter, a mother, a sister, and a loyal friend, Kaycee will be remembered for her infectious enthusiasm and love for life.
A Life of Love and Creativity
Born in Shelby, North Carolina, Kaycee spent much of her life in the close-knit community of Gaffney. She was the beloved daughter of Shandon Hughey and Douglas Eugene Fowler (Nikki), with strong ties to her family who filled her life with warmth and support. A proud graduate of Blacksburg High School, Kaycee’s journey was one of passion and creativity, reflected in her employment with First National Bank and her interests that ranged from crafting and interior design to soaking up the sun at the beach.
The Heart of the Family
At the center of Kaycee’s world was her precious daughter, Hayzlee Brooke Weese, who will carry on her mother’s legacy of love and joy. Matthew Hass, her brother, along with her step-brother Michael Lance of Cowpens, and her three sisters—Lauren Fox (Kara) of Greenville, Taylor Fowler Dawson (Alec) of Charleston, and Cassady Fowler (Brett) of Gaffney—formed a close network of love and support that Kaycee cherished deeply.
She was also a devoted pet parent to her furry friend, Lola, demonstrating her kindness not just to her family but to all animals as evidenced by the memorials her family has requested in her honor. The Cherokee County Humane Society is set to benefit from donations, ensuring her love for animals continues to be felt beyond her earthly presence.
A Grand Family Affair
Kaycee’s legacy will continue to thrive through her three precious nieces and nephews—Ivy, Kade, and Aden—who adored her and whose laughter lit up her life. She is also survived by her paternal grandparents, Archie and Dianne Fowler of Blacksburg, her maternal grandmother Kay Young of Gaffney, and her maternal step-grandmother Joyce Hughey. Even though she faced the heartache of losing her maternal grandfather, Harold Dean Hughey, and step-grandfather, John Young, she carried their memories in her heart.
Final Farewell
The community is invited to come together to celebrate Kaycee’s life and share in the joy she brought to so many. Friends and loved ones can pay their respects on September 26, 2024, at Blakely Funeral Home from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM.
