GREENVILLE, South Carolina — Wofford left Paladin Stadium with a seven-point Southern Conference win over Furman on Saturday, Oct. 3. The final was 32-25. The Terriers stand 3-3 overall and 2-2 in the league. The Paladins are 2-4, and 1-1 in conference play.

The first points came on a 70-yard pass from Ethan Drumm to Isaiah Scott. Drumm then ran for the conversion, so the score was 8-0 at 14:14 of the first quarter. Furman muffed the kick that followed, Wofford recovered, and another score made it 15-0. The Paladins got on the board by taking an interception back for a touchdown. That cut the margin to 15-8 with 4:45 still to go in the opening quarter. Scott's next long reception covered 80 yards and made the score 22-8.

Ivory Aikens scored from 71 yards in the second quarter, and Wofford led 29-8 with 14:49 left before the half. A seven-yard run brought Furman to 29-15, which is where the half ended.

A 29-yard kick in the third quarter made it 29-18 with 9:30 left in the period. Wofford's 22-yard kick with 11 seconds left in that quarter restored a 32-18 lead. Connor Ackerley threw an 18-yard scoring pass with 4:47 to go, and the score was 32-25. Furman took over again with 2:39 remaining. On fourth down, the throw toward the end zone was not caught. Wofford got the ball on downs with 1:08 left.

Drumm completed 14 of his 21 throws for 304 yards, with four of them going for scores. Scott's seven receptions gained 193 yards and accounted for two of those scores. Ackerley completed 27 of 43 throws for 264 yards and one score.
