GREENVILLE, S.C. — Metro Diner, a family-friendly restaurant chain known for its takes on American comfort food, has opened its first location in Greenville, S.C., at 1178 Woodruff Road in the Woodruff Gallery shopping center.
The new diner covers about 3,700 square feet and seats 135 guests inside, with room for 24 more on its outdoor patio. The menu runs from omelets and pancakes to specialty burgers, sandwiches and barbecue ribs, with breakfast served all day alongside lunch and dinner favorites.
For now, the Greenville restaurant is open daily from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Officials said hours will expand to 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. once dinner service is added.
Among the chain’s best-known dishes is its Iron City Meatloaf, which drew national attention after it was featured on a national food television program. The managing partner of the new location said he has worked in the restaurant industry for 20 years and is building a new team in Greenville.
Metro Diner was established in 1992 as a family-owned eatery in Jacksonville, Florida, and now has more than 60 locations east of the Mississippi River.
