Two students were honored for academics and community service at Commencement with President’s Awards.

President’s Award Recipients

President’s Award recipient Logan Holcombe, a medical imaging sciences major, is described by her advisor as an excellent student who takes her education very seriously. She is proactive in staying on track with deadlines, assignments, and documentation. She demonstrated excellent ability in clinical placements and completed her hours two months before the end of the program.

She has obtained a job as a student technologist, showing her commitment to the program and the profession. She is president of the Lambda Nu Honor Society, driving participation in community service efforts on and off campus including the Caring Corner Food Drive, Operation Jolly Holiday, and shopping for residents of National Healthcare.

She is ready to help when asked to be part of career fairs, information sessions, and open houses. She has also represented students on the Medical Imaging Sciences Advisory Board. A scholar and a leader, Logan earns the highest grades as she exemplifies the high standards she holds for herself while assisting other students in reaching their goals.

A loving and supportive father, committed Mechatronics student, and dedicated full-time employee, President’s Award recipient Catlyn Simmons is very busy, yet he makes a demanding schedule look easy, excelling at everything he undertakes. From the first class he enrolled in, he has aimed for greatness, and his 4.0 GPA shows how far a positive attitude and hard work have taken him.

When he completes a task or learns a new skill, Catlyn doesn’t sit back and wait for others to catch up. He lends a helping hand to classmates in the lab and in the classroom, making sure that they can be successful, too. A natural leader who inspires others to achieve, Catlyn displays strong character and an unselfish nature as he lifts up others.

A credit to the program, this graduate is sure to be a valued employee with a successful future.
