Nancy Elder James

Nancy Elder James, aged 71, passed away on June 2, 2025. A native of Duncan, South Carolina, she was the daughter of the late William (Bill) George Elder and Shirley Mosteller Elder. Surviving her are her children, Nathan and Rhonda James, son-in-law Gerry Guenther, grandson Skylon Moss, and siblings Jimmy Elder, Brenda Burnett, Danny Elder, and Allen Elder. Numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews also remember her fondly. A memorial service is planned for July 12, 2025, at 11 a.m. at Liberty Hill United Methodist Church in Greer, South Carolina, with a private burial to follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens.

Donald Woodrow Duncan

Donald Woodrow Duncan, who was 82 years old, passed away on May 3, 2025. He was born on April 27, 1943, in Campobello, South Carolina, and had made Greer his home. Duncan had a long career in the textile industry and was passionate about restoring old muscle cars and following NASCAR. He enjoyed spending his weekends at the Barnyard flea market and gardening. He is survived by his wife, Claudia Parton Duncan, and children Melanie Hayes, Matthew Duncan, and Cynthia Stubbs, along with eleven grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his daughter Donna Duncan, as well as siblings Shirley Culbreth and David Duncan. A celebration of his life will take place on May 10, 2025, at Emmanuel Gospel Tabernacle Church, with donations preferred for the church in his memory.

Jeremy Scott Duncan

Jeremy Scott Duncan, aged 51, died unexpectedly on December 3, 2024. Born on October 6, 1973, in Spartanburg, South Carolina, he was a proud graduate of Dorman High School and dedicated 29 years to his work at BMW in Spartanburg. As a devoted member of Stone Station Baptist Church, he was deeply involved in his faith community. He is survived by his wife, Jennifer Duncan, and their children Courtney, Caitlin, Cameron, and Dylan Smith. He also leaves behind four grandchildren: Ryleigh, Addison, Ellie Reese, and Henlie Joyce, in addition to siblings Michelle Wardat and Justin Melton. Visitation is scheduled for December 7, 2024, at J.M. Dunbar Funeral Home, followed by funeral services and burial at Heritage Memorial Gardens.

Lakieth Kinard Duncan

Lakieth Kinard Duncan, a 39-year-old resident of James Island, South Carolina, passed away on June 8, 2025. Family and friends will gather for visitation on June 20, 2025, and for his funeral on June 21, 2025, at First Baptist Church Of James Island. Further details of his life and contributions to the community have yet to be shared.

Ada M. Duncan

Ada M. Duncan, who passed away on May 26, 2025, was a native of Edgefield County. She graduated from Strom Thurmond High School in 1988 and earned a Bachelor’s Degree from Augusta State University. Ada was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church and worked as a Dispatcher for the Edgefield County Sheriff’s Office. She is survived by her husband, Norris Duncan, their son Jordan Duncan, and her mother Rosalee Mosley. Ada is also remembered by her chosen children, sister Taz M. Potts, and her 19 grandchildren. Her funeral services are set for May 30, 2025, at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, with a viewing on May 29, 2025, at the funeral home.

These losses have brought the community together as friends and family commemorate the lives of these individuals who have left cherished memories and a legacy of love and service. The heartfelt contributions of each individual will be honored during their respective services, providing an opportunity for collective remembrance and support.
