Greenville County Sheriff’s Office investigators have arrested a second suspect in the March shooting death of Sulayman Blue, closing one of the most active homicide investigations the agency has worked this spring.
Cantavius Zedekiah Keontay Earley, 19, was taken into custody on June 5 by members of the GCSO Fugitive Apprehension Specialized Investigations Team, according to a sheriff’s office release. He joins 20-year-old Christian Kaleel Jamison, who was arrested on March 20 — the same day Blue was shot.
What investigators say happened
Investigators allege Jamison and Earley shot Blue following an altercation that stemmed from a drug deal outside a Budget Inn motel room at 224 Bruce Road. Blue died at the scene.
Both suspects are charged with Murder, Possession of a Weapon During a Violent Crime, and Criminal Conspiracy. They are being held at the Greenville County Detention Center.
Why this matters for Greenville
The Bruce Road corridor near White Horse Road has been a recurring focus for GCSO patrol operations. Sheriff’s officials have publicly tied several incidents in the area to narcotics activity at extended-stay motels, and the agency’s Fugitive Apprehension Specialized Investigations Team has been credited with closing multiple violent-crime cases this year.
What’s next
Both defendants are awaiting bond hearings. Court records will determine whether either is granted bond given the murder charges. The Solicitor’s Office will handle prosecution.
Anyone with additional information about the March 20 incident is asked to contact Crime Stoppers of Greenville at 23-CRIME.
