GREENVILLE, S.C. — Two people riding in a pickup truck were killed early Monday when a car crossed into oncoming traffic on Old White Horse Road in Greenville County and set off a three-vehicle wreck, the South Carolina Highway Patrol said.
It was about 5:30 a.m., and the wreck unfolded near the Keeler Mill Road intersection. Troopers said a 2010 Chevrolet Camaro heading south at high speed drifted over the center line and struck the driver side of a 2024 Nissan Altima.
The Camaro kept going and slammed into a 2022 Ford F-150. The car then left the road, dropped into a ditch and flipped, while the truck ran off the opposite side and hit a tree.
One passenger in the pickup died at the scene. The second was pronounced dead while being taken to Greenville Memorial Hospital. The Greenville County Coroner’s Office responded and later identified both victims.
All three drivers were hospitalized with injuries. The Highway Patrol is investigating, and no charges had been announced Monday.
